Therapy Session

On Saturday, Lindsay and I got to do some much needed shopping. Honestly, it's therapy for us. So we wandered the gateway trying on clothes getting coffee and enjoying the holiday lights. We were both limited on funds but found some very good sales.

At American Eagle they offered us 20% off our entire purchase, I decided to buy some holiday underwear. Without revealing too much here are the cute Christmas patterns on the undies.
Next we found some sale stuff at Anthropologie and Banana Republic.
And finally a sweater i've been wanting from Urban Outfitters and cute bowl only $2.99
I also wanted to buy Lindsay...she wasn't for sale...

Thanksgiving Festivities

We had such a fun Thanksgiving. It was hosted by my brother Ben and his girlfriend Meggie. It was a vegan/raw Thanksgiving and it was so delicious. Colin and I brought the pecan pie, some wine and sweet potatoes, that my mom made for us. We ate, I ate and ate seconds. We drank, and I drank mostly for everyone. And we played games, and had pie. It was a very fun Thanksgiving with everyone.

Winter Storm Watching

We got our first official snow storm last night. The weatherman said blizzard warnings and got Colin and I all excited for this large storm to keep us inside for days. I couldn't go to work because I didn't have a ride to work or home because of the weather warnings so I had to stay home. Colin got to come home early from school because they closed The U so we got to do some running around. I looked for job applications, we went grocery shopping, grabbed some lunch and basically made excuses to stay out and about to watch the storm come in. Once it began to get dark and the sky was looking very ominous we decided to drive home. We sat inside and ran to and from the windows waiting for things to happen. Finally it snowed, like the crappiest snow of all, it was mist pretty much a light snow fall. We were so disappointed. The roads did look bad but we were hoping for power outages, having to use candles and no heat! But alas we were fine. In fact Colin made us a delicious cold weather meal and we watched Black Hawk Down. It did snow about 3-4 inches over night and its been freezing all day long. I've been in warm clothes since last night and have no intention of getting out of them. So while my classes were canceled today I get to stay home and workout! I'm really excited for this cold weather!

What did Colin, Mugwomp and I do in anticipation for the storm?!

Colin went on Reddit...

Mugwomp hibernated in the blankets...

I stayed warm in the most comfy clothes I could find...

The snow fell slowly...

But our dinner was delightful!!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

We arrived at Jordan Commons for the midnight movie madness, that was Harry Potter, to find it completely crowded. It was hard to walk around let alone take pictures with and of people. So I sadly only got a few. We did see an amazing Voldemort costume though, and I accidentally stepped on his cape, but I was lucky and he didn't use any of the killing curses on me. So we got into our movie at 12:30, we bought some popcorn and brought in some treats from the gas station. The movie started and the theater erupted into shouts and cries! HARRY POTTER!!! The movie was very good, I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it but...in retrospect it was better than the 6th movie but not as good as the 5th. I did like the story of the Deathly Hallows the best, the one Hermione told. I got out of the theater not completely satisfied. Luckily I got a second chance to see it on Saturday and felt like I enjoyed it a lot more. So yes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was awesome! And I still love Harry Potter!!!

Here are some pictures...the few I got, from the theater.

The Boy Who Lived

So basically at 12:30 I'll be seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1...it's no big deal, don't worry about it. My only wish is that Colin was more excited, I mean its Harry Potter am I right? Also can't wait to get pictures of all the people dressed up. Be prepared for a massive amount of Harry Potter character dopplegangers. OMG tonight is going to be awesome!

Colin's Day Out

At 12:01 Colin was determined to buy beer. And that is how his birthday extravaganza started out. With us going up to the gas station and buying beer precisely at 12:01, he can finally legally drink. He's been waiting for this day for a while. So after he bought his very first six pack we went home to drink and play video games like adults. After getting to sleep in until 11:00, I bought us some coffee from Coffee Noir and made omelets for us. They were simply delicious if I do say so myself. We then promptly left for the liqueur store for some much needed browsing time. It was so nice having Colin in the State Liqueur store with me! Previously I would have to browse the barren wooden shelves on my own but this time Colin would experience the lack of alcohol Utah has! So we stocked up on a array of beers. But since 3 six packs weren't enough, we went to the Beer Store to get 3 more. We ventured home with a variety of beers we were eager to try!! After displaying our beer and trying to get them all to fit in our mini fridge, people started arriving! Ben, Meggie, Josh, Jesse Kissy, Brian, and Ross all came over to play some Super Smash Bros. and drink some beer before we went to Desert Edge. When we got there the place was packed, but luckily found a table to fit us all. We ordered some pitchers, more people showed up and we order some more pitchers. After Desert Edge we headed over to X Wives Club, a pool hall/bar, and met up with some more people! We ended the night nicely, no one threw up or was arrested, and flopped into our beds around 2 am. And thus concludes Colin's 21st birthday! I do believe he had a wonderful time.

Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Day (in Canada) or Veterans Day (in America). For Veterans Day they were giving out coffee and donuts outside my school this morning. They were even playing some patriotic music, before changing it to techno.Since I have my 7 am workout class, I was able to grab a cup of organic blend coffee before my mom picked me up for work. So I got enjoy my coffee, get a nice pin, although I wish it was a poppy. Either way I feel very patriotic and caffeinated.

Tracy Anderson: My New Crush

Kinda, she looks super 'Hollywood' but I want her body. So since I don't have a car anymore its really hard to get to the gym. Especially when its on 2100 S. and I live up on 200 S.. Lately I've just been working out in my strength and toning classes, Tuesday and Thursdays. But recently I've been feeling much more flabby than usual and I've really been missing my cardio workouts. Sure, I've been doing Pilates at home but I feel like I'm not getting the same results as I want. Recently I found the perfect routine. There's only 3lbs weights invloved, got them, easy for a small space which I have and best of all amazing results. Before this starts sounding too much like an infomercial I just wanted to share with you Tracy Anderson, my new favourite trainer. I've been doing her routines through YouTube but its hard to get a full workout. So now I know what I want for Christmas! I posted the video of the routine I've been doing. You just do 50 reps and it kills! Feel free to try it out! She also has fun dance cardio routines.

Vintage Reading

I've been trying to collect vintage and used books for a while now. Mostly ones I love to read and ones that are relatively cheap. Some old books can get very expensive. So far I've collected a total of four really good books. The first one is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, given to me by my sister Becky. I love the cover and inside flap and the art work is just amazing. Sadly I'm still waiting to read it, I have a lot of library ones checked out.
Next I have The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I am currently reading this one. Colin got me this from a used book store in Salt Lake right before he left to China. I love it, I love the leathery cover and tattered pages. I'm excited to finish this book. I can already tell it will be one of my favourites.
This book is The Pictorial Encyclopedia of Fashion, given to me by my mom, it was originally my grandmas. Its an amazing book full of pictures of fashion from Ancient Egypt to Roman times up to the 1960's. The pictures are amazing and while I was flipping through it I found some flowers I had pressed from a Valentines bouquet from Colin. It made me smile.
This last book is my all time favourite book. I loved the Disney move as a child and love the books just as much, if not more. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Gladd by Lewis Carroll. The stories are crazy but so interesting and the art work is just amazing.
So those are the few vintage books I have at the moment. I can't wait to get more and add even more books to my constantly growing book collection.

Please Excuse My Nerdiness

So I'm going to be a huge nerd for this post. I swear it won't last long, its just this has been on my mind the last couple days and I just have to rave all about it! So forever ago I started watching Full Metal Alchemist with my brother Josh and friend Sarai. We got through a majority of the episodes but then I moved away so I had to transfer the episode to my computer and just this week I finished the series. Why I say I'm nerdy is because Full Metal Alchemist is a anime series. You know flying ninjas, awesome characters, huge eyes, its a full on anime. This is one of the few series I have actually finished (Trigun and Soul Eater being the only other ones...wow I sound even nerdier). But honestly I absoluty fell inlove with this series. I love the characters, the story, the animation, it really is anime at its finest. The show is about Edward and Alphonse Elric, two alchemist brothers searching for the legendary catalyst called the Philosopher's Stone, a powerful object which would allow them to recover their bodies (which were lost in an attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy). The brothers set off in search of the Philosopher's Stone as a means to restore their bodies. Throughout their journey, they meet many antagonists, including those who are willing to do anything to obtain the Philosopher's Stone; State Alchemists, new friends and the homunculi, a group of human-like creatures who carry pieces of the Philosopher's Stone inside themselves. If you ever get the chance to watch it, you should. But only in Japanese, any anime is only good in Japanese, the American voices ruin it.
