On Friday March 13th at 7:00 pm, at the Tower Theaters, we got to see The White Stripes documentary, The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights. It's a film about the legendary band touring all of Canada and visiting every Province in 2007. Besides playing all the usual venues throughout Canada, The White Stripes decided to play in more unusual places such as boats, bars, community homes and even for Indian tribal elders. The film captured the extraordinary essence of the band through the concerts they performed as well as really getting to know the band and the special relationship between Jack White and Meg White. It made me feel like I was listening and experiencing the band for the first time. It was an amazing film with a vintage feel with the classic White Stripes black, white and red colour scheme. Unfortunately it was a one time showing, but I highly recommend trying to see it asap.
