Babysitting Adventures

This last weekend I got to/had to babysit my brother's and his girlfriends animals. A dog, Molly, a cat Daggett, and a kitten (name unknown). It was actually a lot of fun walking their dog and feeding their animals, and also getting attacked at night by the kitten. I got a total of 5 hours of sleep over the course of 2 days, plus a 6 hour nap. The upside was the pool, the nice cold relaxing pool. But after all is said and done, I am starting to miss those little guys, as much as I complained about them.

"What A Glorious Feelin', I'm Happy Again..."

While waiting for my clothes to be washed so I could go to the gym, I decided to finally watch Singin' in the Rain. I borrowed it from the library awhile ago but just haven't had time to sit down and watch it lately. Surprisingly, Colin was working and I had nothing else to do. But watching it reminded me how much I love that movie, despite having to fast forward through some of the more boring songs. Its seriously hilarious, I remember singing all the songs or saying random lines from when I was a kid. Singing the Good Mornin' song, when the sound goes out "No, no, no" "Yes, yes, yes", "I can't stand him!", it was awesome. Also Gene Kelly has never been more attractive. His smile, tap dancing abilities, those butt tight khaki pants and his over all charm, had me giggling at the screen. It reminded me how many more awesome old movies I need to borrow from the library.

Mountainous Plains And Such

Remember how much fun it is to spend the weekend up in the Uintas with your amazing boyfriend who just came back from China? Ya me too. That's why I did it this weekend. Colin and I drove up to the Uintas Friday night, set up camp in a dry area next to an adorable little river. It was an ideal place to stay in Yellow Pine camp ground. After we built a fire, played with our cameras and laser light, we realized that our camp was beginning to flood. Water was slowly rising up around the campfire and down to our tent. Luckily we had enough room to move our tent closer to the car where it was dry and avoided a cold wet night. After delicious veggie burgers and some bbq chips we decided to retire to the tent to look at the stars. We fell asleep quickly and I woke up in the middle of the night with a queasy stomach. I had to make my way through the dark to a rock as I threw up...not the best part of the trip! But I quickly felt better. The next day I woke up refreshed, waited for Colin to wake up, went to the washroom, waited for Colin to wake up, sat by the river, checked if Colin had woken up, then decided to make a small raft with sticks, random I know. Colin woke up in the midst of my awkward raft building and tried to ignore it before he couldn't anymore and decided to help set it on fire when we released Jeremiah, the stick man, and his raft down the mighty Mississippi for his river boat adventures.
Then we packed up camp, ate breakfast and headed out to go for a hike. We finally found a good dirt road up to a trail head, but little did we know that the road was mostly rocks. Sharp, jagged, bumpy rocks, with a large cliff to one side of the road. So as I held onto my water bottle for fear of tumbling down the mountain, we made our way up to the trail head. 10 minutes later, and in no sight of the trail head, we decided to pull to the side of the road and walk the rest of the way up. We walked and walked and still didn't see the trail, so we made our own. Through the woods, over the river and up to the top of a mountain where we laid on rocks out in the sun. An hour or so passed and we decided to head down due to our hunger. We ate lunch at a picnic area, hung out on a bridge, dangling our feet over the river, then headed down back to Salt Lake. We showered, applied layers of aloe vera lotion to our bodies, got salads from Whole Foods, uploaded pictures, and watched Fargo. A Perfect end to an even more perfect weekend. Minus the sunburns.

Love You Dad!
Happy Father's Day to my dad and all the others out there. Sadly I didn't get to spend the day with my father, since he's in Canada. But I love him none the less and hope he had an amazing Father's Day. And that he enjoys my card, even if it is a few days late.

The Morris's Visit

Meaghan, Mason and Max (or m,m&m), came to Utah to visit over the weekend. I got to see them bright and early on Saturday at noon for Max's little open house at Mason's parents so everyone could see him, and how much he's grown. Which he has by the way, although he's only 2 1/2 months old and still not crawling, he's gotten more chubby and alert. Saturday we got to visit the Ford's. It was so nice to see everyone and visit with them. Kyle even stopped by and I got to see him after almost 3 years! We also got to see Lindsay and Karlee's new really cute New York style apartment in downtown Provo. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures during our visit, but I think Meaghan took enough for the both of us. Then we went to Omar's for dinner which was just delicious. We met Ben, Meggie and Mom there as well. On Sunday we all got to go to Aunt Ginny's for a potluck luch/dinner. And by everyone I mean, Mom, Josh, Ben, Meggie, Meaghan, Mason, Max and me. And we had to have a potluck considering, me and Mom eat raw, Meggie and Ben are vegan, Meaghan and Mason are vegetarian, and Josh will eat anything. It was so much fun being there and visiting. We got a grand tour of Ginny's new house which is just adorable! We left at around 7 and stopped by Alchemy Coffee for some dirty chai's. Then got to listen to the pouring rain as I watched Gossip Girl. Monday came and I worked half a day and got to spend the rest of the time hanging out with Meaghan and Max at the Gateway. We browsed the baby clothes, changed many diapers, got some iced chai's, and I managed to not throw up when Max leaked through his poopy diaper onto Meaghan's pants and the Old Navy floor. It was actually alot of fun just being able to be with Meaghan before she left. So my weekend was eventful, unlike my week will be while I anticipate Stacy's wedding and Colin's return. I will be going to the gym and watching a lot of Gossip Girl. But I can't wait to see my sister and her family again, hopefully really soon.At Omar's eating raw food

Remember How China Trips Are WAY Too Long?

Its official, it is now less than a week until my beloved boyfriend returns from his journey over seas in China. His emails and phone calls have made it a little easier to have him away, but overall, its sucked having him gone. He's been able to travel all over China, to Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Xi'an and many other places I can't pronounce. He's climbed several mountains, seen a bunch of cities, been to various temples and hopefully taken many pictures that I will get to see soon! I can't wait to hear all about his Asian adventures and just be able to see him again, whenever I want, as long as he doesn't get sick of me. Only 5 more days and I couldn't be more happy!
