Dresses Needed

I need an excuse to buy and wear these dresses. This is why I need to work in an actual office or for a magazine. Maybe once I graduate I'll have reasons to buy these dresses. But until then I'll just think and contemplate buying them.

All dresses are from ASOS.com

New Blog

I've decided to start a second blog. I know this first one seems to take up a lot of my time but I just can't help but share what books I've read or am reading with people. So as of today I have started a book blog, all about books, of course. If anyone has any suggestions, or new books they've read or would like to have them reviewed, feel free to send me an email, or leave a comment! I can't wait to read more and more books.
Check out my new book blog all about books, For A Rainy Day!

Map Of Trees

I found this picture on etsy.com and decided to make one of my own. I used card stock paper for the backgrounds and decoupaged the different maps over the card stock. It was alot of fun listening to my ipod while I made it.

My New Laptop!!

Its official, I finally got my own laptop! I couldn't be more excited! I can now play games, blog, check facebook, and do whatever whenever I want on a computer. Colin and I went to Best Buy to see what kind of deals they had going for the laptop I originally went there to buy. They were no help. The employees barley talked to us and when they did, they weren't the nicest about it. Finally when I actually picked up the laptop I wanted to by, a different one from the original one which was too small, one employee talked to us and was super nice. So after waiting in line for 10 minutes for one register I bought it! I brought it home and my mom asked what kind of deal I got. I told her it was a good laptop for the price, with a blueray player, good graphics card and so on, for $800. She look at me and said I could get a better deal. Previously, Josh had tried to buy a tv at Best Buy, brought it home and found out it had already been open and didn't work. So he got a 10% off any tv. But my mom called told them about the 10% off tv and asked if we could apply it to the laptop instead. So with her charms she got me 10% off my wonderful laptop which I am healthily in love with for an electronic device.
Isn't she a beauty?

Cooking Adventures

Lately I've been trying new recipes. Not that I'm a particularly good cook, but I do love to bake. I first tried out the Cheesecake Cups, which didn't turn out so well. I got the recipe online at foodnetwork.com, thinking they were more cheesecake tasting than ricotta cheese tasting. They weren't exactly what I was expecting, but they did look pretty. A week or so later I used one of my moms recipes to make Lemon Bars, they were awesome! I was so proud of myself! The crust was good, the lemon filing was good, it was over all deliciousness. Then Ben and I got together and made Vegan Cookies, which were so good. Ben did most of the work but I helped out too! I just love to bake and can't wait to get new recipes. I also want to find a cute apron to cook in, maybe from Anthropologie? Vegan Cookies, Cheesecake Cups, Lemon Bars

"I'm dying of boredom," Howl said pathetically. "Or maybe just dying."-Wizard Howl

After finding out one of my favourite movies is a book, I knew I had to read it. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones is a lot like the film adaptation by Hayao Miyazak. The book, of course, goes into more detail about the characters personalities and pasts which made me like them even more. Here is a little synopsis about the book...
A girl names Sophie Hatter, the eldest of three girls, realizes that she will have no chance of finding her fortune and accepts that she will have a dull life running the family hat shop, until she is turned into an old lady by the Witch of the Waste. A powerful witch who has mistaken Sophie for her sister, the current love interest of Wizard Howl. Sophie leaves the shop and finds work as a cleaning lady for the notorious Howl, who is a legend in Sophie's town for eating the hearts of beautiful young women. She finds herself frustrated but fascinated by Howl and his companions, Michael his apprentice and Calcifer his fire demon. Throughout their adventures of trying new spells, vigorous cleaning and running a flower shop, they all become somewhat of a family. And Howl suggests they live happily ever after. Its one of those books I need to buy because I know I will read it over and over again. I'm in love with the characters and all the unique magical items and spells Jones has put in her book, along with the well thought out landscapes and interesting towns. I enjoyed this book so much I'm now reading the sequel House of Many Ways. I'm only three chapters in and already I'm hooked!

Dear Summer,

Its been almost a whole year since I have seen you, I miss you dearly. I want to enjoy your fresh colours, your warm sun, running around in shorts and tank tops, painting on the sunscreen during the more eventful summer activities. The smell of fresh cut grass, not wearing shoes, taking long vacations and being able to just wear long sleeve shirts at night time. Rolling down my windows before my air conditioning gets cold, having bbq's and going swimming. Summer please hurry, we need you! That is all...

Love Emily
